Not blogged here for what seems like an eternity!
Finally got round to enabling HTTPS everywhere for this site. It was quite simple thanks to Dreamhost’s support for Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.
Once that was enabled, the site supported both HTTP and HTTPS, so just needed to tweak WordPress to support HTTPS by updating the site/home page URLs.
After that, I just needed to update .htaccess to permanently redirect all incoming requests to HTTPS.
I then went through my theme scripts and posts looking for anything that is loading HTTP based resources and updated them (only a handful).
If you spot any mixed content issues please let me know.
One day I’ll implement a CDN or maybe off load the whole thing to CloudFlare
Didn’t blog anything this whole year, but hopefully next year can try a bit harder!
